Operation-GET THIS WEIGHT OFF!

I have decided to link up with Becky at The Java Mama to finally get this baby weight off.  I have had several people in the past 6 months ask me if I was pregnant and I'm tired of it.  Recently a client asked me "How's the belly?"  Talk about a slap in the face.  Anyway, I figured I would be honest in this post so that my new readers will understand my struggles.

My senior year of high school, I weighed 160 pounds.  I hated being one of the heaviest of all my friends and the summer after I graduated, I lost 30 pounds.  While in college I was able to join a gym which helped me keep the weight off.  Like everyone else, my weight would fluctuate between 5-10 pounds.  I was able to keep the weight off from 1999-2009.  By November 2009 I was back up to 145.  December 2009 I found out I was pregnant and at my first appointment at the end of January, my weight was right at 155.  I weighed 187 the day I went in for my c-section.  It has been so hard for me to get this baby weight off.  I have been a runner for years and love it!  Running alone will not get this weight off.  As of today, I weigh 174.  I am not a horrible eater, but I do sometimes indulge in sweets.

What do I want to result from this?!?  Two things.....1) Parker turns three in September and I would love to be able wear a cute outfit and not hide from the camera.  2)  Lee and I celebrate our 10 year anniversary.  I want to look good in a bathing suit for our anniversary trip.

I can do this and will give it my all.  Lee has lost 25 pounds in the past 9 months by running and cutting back on carbs and sugar.  He is a great support system.  I signed up for a 10k on January 12 with a friend.  I signed up back in December because I knew I would need something at the beginning of the year to get my hiney motivated.  Good luck to everyone!

  1. Talk about rude comments. Ugh! I have discovered that it is harder after pregnancy to get the weight off. My 10th anniversary is March 1st and I really want to be in a cute outfit without feeling lumpy and I also don't want to be avoiding the camera on my daughter's 2nd birthday on March 23rd. I'll be cheering for you. Best of luck.

  9. Oh my... how rude! My rule is that it is never, EVER acceptable to ask a women if she's pregnant. EVER!

My hubby can skip his midnight snack and lose 5 pounds. He started dieting on the 1st. On the morning of the 4th he tells me he'd already lost 7 pounds, even though on the 1st we had Mexican food for lunch, then dinner at my grandmother's which he followed up with a HUGE dessert plate. So, that means he lost 7 pounds in 2 days? Really?? How is that possible?? It's soooo not fair.

Well, best of luck to you. I look forward to getting to know you better on our journey.
