July

It's July 31 already? How did that happen? Here's what we've been up to the month of July.

We were 10 minutes early one Sunday for Church so I let Parker jump in the front seat with me.  He thought he was such a big boy.

Saturday, July 12

Parker was invited to his friend Peyton's 4th Birthday party.  Peyton's dad was Parker's soccer coach so the boys' became good friends.  It was such a cute Western theme party.  We had a blast.

This is the result of waking up at 6:45, no nap and playing your little heart out at a birthday party.  Poor baby!

Sunday, July 13

Parker's best bud, Briley, celebrated his Birthday with a Super Mario themed party.  I was super impressed with the party considering Matt & Pamela, Briley's parents, (AKA my best friends) had a 4 week old to take care of as well.

Look how cute.  She made sugar cookies and cut a piece out and put it in a little flower pot.  Oh, the pot was filled with a crumbled brownie.

Saturday, July 19

It was a stormy Saturday here in South Alabama so we decided to take Parker to see Planes Fire & Rescue.  This was probably my favorite movie that we have taken Parker to see.

Sunday, July 20

It's no secret, I LOVE my church.  To celebrate the end of the series, I Heart My Church, we had Kona Ice after the service.  Parker was so excited because he gets Kona Ice once a week at his school.

Friday, July 25

This was a BIG day because Mama turned 34.  We had a low key celebration with my sister and my nieces at Moe's BBQ in Downtown Mobile.  It was a perfect day.

Sunday, July 27

Parker and I spent a few hours at the pool.  I'm suprised my pasty white self didn't scare people away.  I hate to admit that this was our first trip of the summer to the pool.  Hey, summer is about to end.  This picture is the result of no nap & several hours of swimming.  Poor baby.

Well, there you go.  Life at the Rollin house has been busy and August will be the same.  Big changes coming in a few weeks for my sweet little man.  Stay tuned for an update!

Confessional Friday-A Day in the Life

Today I'm linking up with A Blond Ambition for Confessional Friday.  This weeks link up is all about A Day in the Life.

July 9, 2014

4:30-Hubby's alarm goes off and Parker decides he wants to wake up.  This doesn't happen very often.
5:35-Parker wakes me up and ask if he can get out of bed to watch TV.  I snuggle with him and he falls fast asleep.
5:45-I get out of bed to start my day.  I've actually been up since 4:30 so I'm sure it's going to be a long day.  I shower, wish everyone on Facebook a Happy Birthday and watch the local news.
6:15- I typically don't start getting ready until 6:30 but I've got a mountain of paperwork on my desk so I really need to go into the office early this morning.
6:30-Wake Up Time for Parker.  Lot's of kisses happen.  I fix his breakfast, waffles, and turn the Disney Channel on.  Today it's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
7:00-Get Parker dressed, teeth brushed and face washed.
7:10- Out the door we go!

Can't you tell that he was excited for school this morning.  That's what happens when you wake up at the crack of dawn.

7:43- Arrive at school.
7:56-I arrive at work.  I'm the first one there so I come in and make coffe and get myself organized before I start working.  CRAZY DAY ALREADY!!!  Job Security, right!
12:30 Lunch!  My boss bought lunch for the office so we all sat around at the table in the kitchen.  It's nice to sit around like one big happy family.
5:08- Time to call it a day.
5:27- I arrive at school to pick Parker up.
6:03- We arrive at home.  I go in, get Parker a small snack, start a load of laundry & get dinner going.  Parker was beyond dirty so Lee put him in the tub to get an early bath.  I think my child rolls around in the dirt at school.  Hey, atleast he's having fun.
7:00-Dinner is searved, kitchen cleaned and time to relax.
8:00-  I get ready for bed.  Parker and I climb into bed to watch 2 episodes of Full House.  Yes, my son loves Full House.  We typically watch atleast 1 episode each night.
9:00-  Lights out and we go to sleepy town.

Thoughts for Thursday-My Diet

Today, I linking up with Annie and Natalie for their Thoughts for Thursday and it's all about my diet.  So here we go!

I've always struggled with my weight since I was a teenager.  The summer after I graduated High School, I lost 30 pounds and was able to pretty much keep it off.  I would gain 5-10 pounds here and there but I was always able to change my diet and loose it.  Fast forward to September 2010 when I had Parker.  I gained 32 pounds with Parker and lost 20 after having him.  The problem is after I lost the weight, I ended up gaining some back.  I love food!  Don't we all!  I went on Weight Watcher's in 2011 and lost 12 pounds, but ended up gaining it back.  I took a new job 1 year ago and I sit at a desk a lot.  I sat at a desk when I worked in Banking but I was constantly up and moving.  In the past year, I have gained more weight and on June 16th,   I was just 7 pounds shy of weighing what I weighed when I went into the hospital to have Parker.  Talk about a wake up call.  I'm a runner but that doesn't mean it makes me skinny.  Exercise is great but your diet is the key.  I've heard that for years but never really followed that rule.  Also, I typically only run once per week because of our schedule.  Now, sometimes I get 6-10 miles in on one run but still, I need to exercise more.

One of the ladies I work with started Medi Weight Loss.  Her mom actually started it and she made a copy of the papers that tell you how to be successful on the program.  Instead of taking pills and spending the money on the program, I'm doing a DIY version of it.  The first week is hard because it's all about eating protein and limiting your carbs.  The second week you can add in veggies and yogurt.  As of today, I've lost 6.2 pounds.  I was hoping for 10 pounds in a month so I have 6 more days to shed 3.8 pounds.  My ultimate goal is to be at my pre-pregnancy weight by Parker's birthday which is September 3.  If not by his birthday, our 11 year anniversary on September 27.  That's only 19.4 pounds.  I really think it's an achievable goal.   I turn 34 in 2 weeks and it's been a real challenge since I turned 30 to shed the weight.

Now, is this diet for everyone?  No, but I'm a carb lover and it's what works for me.  I'm learning to skip the bun if I eat a hamburger, substitute rice for veggies, increase my water and make smarter snack choices.  Do I cheat?  Yes, this is a lifestyle change for me so I'm about 80/20.  I'm really good during the week but I allow myself to indulge a little on the weekends.  If you are on MyFitnessPal, my user name is CNR1980.  I pretty much eat the same thing every day with the exception of dinner.

So, there you have it!  I'm hoping I can make this happen.  Have a great week.

Thoughts for Thursday

Today, I linking up with Annie and Natalie for their Thoughts for Thursday.  So here we go!

1.  I'm so excited for a 3 day weekend.  I have been so tired all week.

2.  I was running last weekend and right after the 3 mile water stop, I fell.  I wasn't paying attention and looked off to the side and the next thing I knew, I was on the ground.  I walked about a half mile before one of my friends came to pick me up.  I couldn't finish my 6 mile run.  Talk about upset.  Anyway, I can finally walk on my left foot but the bone area of my left ankle is bruised and swollen.  Hopefully it will heal soon.

3.  I'm planning Parker's 4th birthday party.  Oh my goodness, where has the time gone.  He wants an Avengers party.  I'm thinking Kangaroos.  It's a little on the expensive side but all I have to do is show up with the cake.  They even provide Blue Bell ice cream cups.

4.  I started a diet on June 16th.  I lost 7.4 pounds in 2 weeks and this week I've lost .4.  At least give me a pound or two.  Geez, I don't think I'm asking for too much.

5.  It's the first week of July and we haven't been in a pool.  I told Parker that we would go swimming this weekend.  He's excited.

6.  Our 11 year Anniversary is fast approaching.  Lee and I were talking about it last night and trying to make some plans.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July.  Stay Safe!!!
