A winter storm would probably be no big deal in the North but it has parlayed us here in the Deep South. Folks don't know how to drive in snow and ice around here because it's rare that we even see these type of conditions. There are no stores open and many roads have been closed. We were prepared but the Birmingham area was not. There were people who had to abandon theirs cars, sleep in their office buildings, teachers and children stuck at school. It's a mess up there. Stay warm!
