Favorite Prayer

Wow, has this been a tough week for you like it has been for me?  First the Boston Marathon and then an explosion in West, Texas.  I find myself praying a lot lately and I have to make sure I give God praise for the good He has done.  Especially since there is so much bad in the world right now.  My relationship with Him has grown so much in the past 3 years and I'm thrilled.  I have always had a relationship with Him but I needed it to deepen.  I attend Bay Community Church in Malbis, Alabama.  I LOVE my church.  The worship music is awesome and my pastor makes it so easy to take his message and relate it to real life.  I came across a prayer on Pintrest and it's something I pray all the time.

Dear Lord, Lead me to make choices that bring You glory and allow me to experience the life You intended for me.

It's so true!  I try to make the right decisions because what ever I do, I want to give Him all the glory for it.

In other news, my child is trying to give me a heart attack.  I picked him up from daycare yesterday and I grabbed his hand to walk to the car.  He got mad and let my hand go.  I went to grab it back and he took off running.  I look up and a truck is coming through the parking lot and I scream.  He stops and I grab him.  Luckily, the guy in the truck was looking and going really slow.  I put Parker in the car and tell him I will be reporting this to his daddy.  He at that point starts crying.  I go into my spill about how that truck could hit him and he may not see mommy and daddy again.  Yes, a little harsh words for a 2 year old toddler.  I got his attention and he just boo hoo'd.    The thought just brought me to tears.

Squash Casserole

I love squash casserole but have never found the perfect recipe.  I came across this recipe and it was yummy and easy!  Go check out Lauren's Blog for a delicious recipe for meatloaf muffins that she served with the casserole.

Squash Casserole
*serves 4-6*

3 small or 2 large yellow squash
appr 3/4 cup sour cream
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic salt(not as strong as garlic powder)
heaping cup of shredded cheese (I used Sargento 4 State Cheddar and HIGHLY recommend it!!) OR you can just grab a big handful like I did. ;)
salt & pepper to taste
appr 3/4 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
1/2 stick butter, melted

Cut up your squash and throw in pot full of water. Boil for 4-5 minutes until just tender. Drain well and dump in bowl.
Add in sour cream, onion powder, and garlic salt. You can use chopped onion if you like them. You can even saute them, and season with the garlic salt and some salt & pepper, then add to the mixture.
Add in cheese and mix until well combined. Taste for seasonings and adjust as needed. I also added a little bit of plain sharp cheddar, along with the 4 State Cheddar.
*Add a splash of milk if you want to thin it out just a tad. It'll add more creaminess to it, as well.*
Pour into a greased pan and top with crushed crackers.
Pour melted butter over the top and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Parker's Favorite Books

I'm linking up today with Kelly's Korner for favorite children's books!  Parker will be so excited because mommy will get some new ideas for new books.  Parker loves to read.  If you were to come to my house right now, you would find about 5 books on my coffee table in the living room.  He loves to bring books in there while we are *trying* to watch tv and say "mommy, you read this book".  I love that he does this so that tv show becomes non-important at that moment.  His room is full of books.
Right now ....... these are books Parker loves to read:

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Take my picture

Lee was looking at the Bass Pro sales paper and Parker decided he needed to look at it too. He climbed in the chair with his daddy and asked me to take his picture. He loves his daddy!

Easter 2013

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Our weekend was busy.  I took Parker to a birthday party at the Little Gym on Saturday afternoon.  It was his first time at there.  We have been invited to several birthday parties there, but he was sick or we had something else going on.  I'm sure we will be making several trips back.  We went to the 5:00 Easter service on Saturday night.  It was packed.  There were people in the commons area as well as the over flow room.  All I can say is, GOD IS GOOD!  It makes my heart so happy to see people come to church.  The service was great so I pray God won some souls Easter weekend.  We dyed eggs Saturday night and Parker had so much fun.  He's not very gentle when putting the eggs in the bowls.  We spent the first half of the day at my sister-in-laws and then the afternoon at my sisters.

Dying eggs!

His favorite thing in his basket was the new Monster Jam truck.  I'm telling you, I could have filled the basket with monster trucks and he would have been thrilled!

Blurry picture, but he was so excited checking out all the things in his basket.

Chunnington!

Mr. Cool Ray!

Riding his 4-wheeler at Ree Ree's house!  My nephew put his helmet on Parker and it was so cute!

Easter Egg Hunt at Jenn Jenn's.

What a wonderful weekend!  I'm so thankful that He loves me and gave his life for us despite our flaws and imperfections.  For that, I'm so grateful!
