Operation-GET THIS WEIGHT OFF!

I have decided to link up with Becky at The Java Mama to finally get this baby weight off.  I have had several people in the past 6 months ask me if I was pregnant and I'm tired of it.  Recently a client asked me "How's the belly?"  Talk about a slap in the face.  Anyway, I figured I would be honest in this post so that my new readers will understand my struggles.

My senior year of high school, I weighed 160 pounds.  I hated being one of the heaviest of all my friends and the summer after I graduated, I lost 30 pounds.  While in college I was able to join a gym which helped me keep the weight off.  Like everyone else, my weight would fluctuate between 5-10 pounds.  I was able to keep the weight off from 1999-2009.  By November 2009 I was back up to 145.  December 2009 I found out I was pregnant and at my first appointment at the end of January, my weight was right at 155.  I weighed 187 the day I went in for my c-section.  It has been so hard for me to get this baby weight off.  I have been a runner for years and love it!  Running alone will not get this weight off.  As of today, I weigh 174.  I am not a horrible eater, but I do sometimes indulge in sweets.

What do I want to result from this?!?  Two things.....1) Parker turns three in September and I would love to be able wear a cute outfit and not hide from the camera.  2)  Lee and I celebrate our 10 year anniversary.  I want to look good in a bathing suit for our anniversary trip.

I can do this and will give it my all.  Lee has lost 25 pounds in the past 9 months by running and cutting back on carbs and sugar.  He is a great support system.  I signed up for a 10k on January 12 with a friend.  I signed up back in December because I knew I would need something at the beginning of the year to get my hiney motivated.  Good luck to everyone!

100% Boy

Parker has a HUGE personality and loves life with everything in him! He runs everywhere, he is loud and boisterous (which I LOVE, it makes him a boy!), and he loves to play. He is 100% all boy and it makes him such a fun two year old. He is just so laid back!  He just kind of goes along with the flow and just has fun. His teachers at school and church love him and enjoy him (or so they say). He has a lot of friends at school and at home. I just love how much his personality shines in pictures. He always appears to be having fun and loving life! Such a gift!

"Help me Mommy!"  I'm sure he will have one of these in the future.
Like father, like son!  He loves to look at all the fish bait and tells his daddy all the time that he wants to go fishing!

The Little Things

I've been thinking a lot about my New Years resolutions and along with the usual; eat better, lose 10 pounds, etc, I'm going to spend more time enjoying the small things in life. I realized that I don't take enough time to really enjoy everything going on. I spend too much time on social media, I spend too much time worrying, and being frustrated because there is never enough time in my life to do what I want to do, only what I "have" to do.

I'm really struggling with the thought that Parker is almost no longer a toddler.  He is almost 2 and a half and that makes me sad. I can't believe how fast time is going.  I look forward to the next year and how much Parker will grow and change in that time. In just the past 4 months he is a different child than the one that turned 2. He has an extensive vocabulary and is potty trained. I love watching his sweet personality grow. It is such a gift to see it develop a little more every day.

I have plans for 2013.  I plan to do better at blogging.  I plan to cut back on FB. I want to spend more time with Parker and Lee, and less time on the internet.  This time with him is precious and I want to get back to focusing more on them.  I have put Parker ahead of Lee for some time now and you can start to tell.  My husband has been begging me for a date night.  We don't spend enough of time together, just the two of us.  I don't want to look back one day and wish I had spent more time enjoying the small things in life, not just the major moments. God has blessed me with an amazing life and I want to enjoy it to the fullest!

Look at that cute little grin!

Merry Christmas

Christmas Fun

Mr. Cutie!  Today was pajama day at daycare.  They were also having a book exchange.  Parker loves books so I am sure he was excited.
I am so blessed with such wonderful friends.  I love these girls and they are always there when you need them.

Sickness

Sweet baby has an upper respiratory infection. He stayed home from school today and spent the day being lazy and going to the doctor. Bless his heart, this weather is NOT for him.
